"A badass comic" —Maddox, author of The Alphabet of Manliness.
Satan Ninja 198X (pronounced "nineteen-eighty-x") is an '80s-themed webcomic by Jessica Safron (artist/co-writer) and Adam Dravian (writer). It's inspired by radical 1980’s media, mostly movies, but also video games, cartoons, anime, heavy metal music, and the “satanic panic” of the era.

It's kind of like an '80s teen comedy movie injected with over-the-top ninja violence, lots of T&A, and elements of sci-fi, horror, and fantasy.

Plot SummaryEdit

Satan Ninja 198X is the tale of Eddie McCarthy, an unpopular high school senior who spends most of his time down at Pizza Wizard, a local arcade hot spot. While playing the two-player hack and slash: Double Dudes vs Satan Ninja on his birthday, Eddie begins to face the second form of the final boss, when he is kicked off the cabinet by a punk named Razor. After his other friends ditch him, he decides to call it a night. Later that night, Eddie dreams of himself in the game, the babe in need of rescue takes on the form of Veronica LeBrock, Eddie's school crush. Together with Dude Shinobi, the two defeat the Satan Ninja.

Across town, Dean Slater, college superjock, reveals how Veronica dumped him earlier that day and is planning to get back with her to his newest co-ed conquest, Trish Cates.

Meanwhile, a group of Satan Ninjas infiltrate the mansion of Lucas Moore, owner of the Pizza Wizard, in search of his Satan Ninja Glove. They are attacked by Valery "Viper" Viperelli, a hired guard for Moore's estate, and make off with the glove. He manages to kill the last one before they can take off, and the glove is lost in the woods below.
